Frederick Hines was an English artist best known for his watercolors of forests, idyllic landscapes and pastoral scenes. Born around 1852 in England, Hines resided in both Essex and London, where he was admitted to the Royal Academy, where he exhibited frequently throughout his life. Hines illustrated books and accessories, including a copy of Goldsmith's The Deserted Village and several late 16th-century Christmas cards.
