Jorge López Pardo specialized in drawing and painting, mainly in graphite/canvas drawing. He has participated in fairs and different international art events, such as ARCO, Art Forum Berlin, Art Basel, Art America, among others. He currently works with SaltFineArt gallery in California and MAXIMA gallery in Havana, Cuba. The artist himself explains his art as follows: "When observing art, the possibilities are endless; we enjoy the expressive freedom to approach different themes and get closer to the essence that describes us. Philosophizing from a subtle perception, ideas and obsessions that torment us. As a subject of that reality that I try to decipher, I design spaces full of elemental codes, forms that arise from my intellectual and processual experience, experiences of a poetic state that finds in formal language a minimalist solution to the idea. Therefore, the visual synthesis and the constructive scheme of the pieces are based on the use of few formal resources, but enough, from my artistic point of view, to encourage dialogue and reflection. In different series such as Human Capital, Black Box, Sighting and Self-Portraits, I explore human nature and its relationship with the social context. The approach to these themes varies in their conception. In some, the metaphor transcends the cognitive fact by delving into more philosophical aspects, while in others we face reality with its insurmountable and disturbing beauty, so close and alien. A contrast that shows the fluctuation of thought and its processes".
