The Swedish word "Bumling" translates as boulder or boulder, and is used colloquially to describe colossal or unwieldy things. That's what a friend of designer Anders Pehrson's friend called the new Pehrson lamp when it was first exhibited at the Gothenburg lighting fair in 1968. Thus Bumling, a classic of Swedish design, was born. Made entirely of brass, it combines a timeless, classic aesthetic with a gold finish that gives it a unique touch. The hat-shaped shade provides a warm and welcoming illumination. The color of the material stands out in a magical way when the lamp is on.
Swedish designer Anders Pehrson studied in Gothenburg and began his career in the 1950s working for AB Philips, where he remained until 1963. That same year he began his collaboration with Ateljé Lyktan, for which he created iconic designs such as the "Bumling" lamp and the "Tube".
