In the late 1960s, Italian design underwent a profound transformation driven by the search for versatile solutions for new ways of living. In this context, Ambrogio Brusa designed the Valletto Triangolo series for Valenti, a modular system conceived to make the most of corners and allow for different configurations by stacking or combining its elements. Its distinctive triangular shape serves a dual purpose: to optimize space and to break away from the traditional orthogonal geometry of home furnishings. Made of molded plastic, these modules reflect the era’s enthusiasm for new synthetic materials, which made it possible to produce pieces that were lightweight, durable, and easily integrated into interiors. The ability to stack multiple units made the Valletto Triangolo an extremely functional piece of furniture, adaptable both as an auxiliary shelf and as a storage unit.
Founded in Milan in the 1960s, Valenti was one of the Italian firms that best represented the evolution of domestic design toward functional solutions and industrial production. The company collaborated with designers such as Ambrogio Brusa, developing furniture and accessories that responded to the new ways of living in postwar Italian society. Its designs were characterized by the innovative use of materials such as molded plastic, chrome-plated metal, and glass.
