DESCRIPTION
Articulated shepherd; Venice, XIX century.
Polychrome wood and fabric.
It has damage to the carving and polychrome. Slight tears in the fabric.
Attached calendar of 1927.
Measurements: 39 x 11,5 cm.
Round sculpture representing a shepherd boy. The figure that is articulated, allows to undress and change the attire of the sculpture. Except for the boots, which are carved and painted. The figure has a 1927 calendar, whose cover shows a scene of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. Due to its characteristics, it is possible that the piece belonged to a larger sculptural ensemble, perhaps a Nativity scene, whose tradition in Italy includes figures with similar characteristics to the one here present.
