Mainly a sculptor, although he also works in painting and engraving, David Lechuga began his training in the workshop of sculptor Manuel de la Colina, and later entered the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid. He later received a scholarship from the Círculo de Bellas Artes in the same city, furthered his studies in Belgium and obtained new scholarships from the Juan March Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. He held his first solo exhibition in Madrid in 1970, and in the eighties he already had a solid reputation. Throughout his career he has held exhibitions in Spain, Belgium, Germany and France, and has also taken part in fairs in Switzerland, Portugal and the United States. He is currently represented in the MNCA Reina Sofía, the Museo Municipal de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid, the Museo Municipal de Valdepeñas, the Casa de la Moneda, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Santander and in the collections of BBVA, Banco de España and Caja Madrid.
