DESCRIPTION
Set of two crucified Christs. First half of the 20th century.
Carved and polychromed boxwood. Wooden crosses.
They show isolated losses of polychrome, minor chips, and dirt.
Measurements: 30 x 25 cm and 24 x 22 cm (Christ figures); 60 x 32 cm and 50 x 30 cm (crosses).
Two dying Christs in carved and polychromed wood, mounted on wooden crosses with simple lines. Both figures reflect traditional devotional imagery, featuring stylized anatomies, raised arms, bowed heads, and a cloth of purity rendered with pronounced folds.
The larger figure features cleaner, more serene carving, with light skin tones and a white cloth, while the second features more hallmarks of contrasting polychromy, with a gilded perizonium and a more dramatic rendering of the body.
