Sibyllae et Prophetae de Christo Salvatore Vaticinantes (The Prophecies of the Sibyls).
Facsimile with book study.
Limited edition. Copy 60/375.

Facsimile of the work Sibyllae et Prophetae de Christo Salvatore Vaticinantes, also known as The Prophecies of the Sibyls, published by Arte y Bibliofilia in 2018. This edition faithfully reproduces the original manuscript that brings together the prophetic visions attributed to both the Sibyls of the pagan tradition and the prophets of the Old Testament, announcing the coming of Christ the Savior.

The work is situated within a rich medieval and Renaissance tradition that interprets prophetic texts in a Christological key, linking classical mythology, biblical exegesis and Christian symbolism. Through a careful combination of text and image, the manuscript presents a gallery of illustrated prophetic figures, in an aesthetic that reflects the spirituality, erudition and art of its time.

The facsimile, carefully bound, reproduces with high fidelity the original calligraphies, miniatures and illuminations, making it a piece of great value for collectors, art historians, theologians and lovers of bibliographic heritage. This edition represents an exceptional testimony of the prophetic iconography and the Christian symbolic tradition that developed in European scriptoria during the late medieval centuries.
