"Imperial Peking" was published by Argos Publishing House in 1961. The author, Lin Yutang, was a Chinese writer and activist dedicated to popularizing Chinese literature in the West. Lin Yutang's work, which includes translations and original texts, was nominated several times for the Nobel Prize. The book cover features a sculpture of a Chinese guardian lion, often seen in Beijing's Forbidden City.
"La Peinture Chinoise" is part of the collection "Trésors de l'Asie" (Treasures of Asia) and was written by James Cahill. The author was an art historian specializing in Chinese art, and his works are considered important in the field.
