Ricardo Eufemio Molinari, an outstanding figure of the Argentine poetry of the 20th century. The volume is inscribed in a stage of maturity of the author, in which his writing is oriented towards an introspective lyric, of meditative tone and deep emotional charge.
The book explores, from its very title, a poetics crossed by the idea of melancholy as a constant and almost corporeal presence, a "guest" that accompanies the vital experience of the lyrical subject. Through a refined language and strong symbolic density, Molinari builds a poetic universe where memory, time and awareness of the passing of life are intertwined in a continuous reflection.
The edition includes a drawing by Jorge Larco, which provides a visual complement to the poetic climate of the text, reinforcing its aesthetic dimension and modernist sensibility. As a whole, the work is characterized by a formal sobriety that contrasts with the inner intensity of its images, in which evocation, silence and contemplation predominate.
This first paperback edition represents not only a milestone in Molinari's career, but also a significant testimony of Argentine poetry in the mid-twentieth century, marked by a search for interiority and a growing reflection on the fragility of existence.
