Condition: signs of use and wear consistent with age and use. The cases show damage and missing sections in their linings, but this does not affect the integrity of the instruments.

An interesting set of two cases containing precision instruments for technical drawing, made primarily of steel and brass. They contain various types of compasses, protractors, ruling pens, and accessories, arranged in compartments specifically designed for each piece. Of particular note is the fact that the sets are preserved in their original cases: one made of natural wood with a velvet-lined interior, and the other with a wooden core, an imitation leather exterior, and a fabric interior.

These types of cases were indispensable tools for architects, engineers, draftsmen, and cartographers during the 19th century, a time of extraordinary development in technical education and increasing precision in graphic representation. The combination of steel and brass met both functional requirements and the desire to produce durable, meticulously crafted instruments.
