Based on the novel by Nicholas Mosley and with a screenplay by the renowned playwright Harold Pinter, it tells the story of Stephen, a college professor played by Dirk Bogarde, whose life is upended by a tragic accident and his complex relationship with two young women connected to his academic circle.
Also starring Stanley Baker and Jacqueline Sassard, *Accidente* was acclaimed for its psychological depth and brilliant narrative structure, winning the Grand Prix du Jury at the 1967 Cannes Film Festival.
