The film earned 2 awards and 29 nominations, including two Oscar nominations (Best Actress for Julianne Moore and Best Cinematography for Roger Pratt), four Golden Globe nominations, and nine BAFTA nominations, where Neil Jordan won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. These accolades cemented the film’s status as one of the most outstanding dramatic productions of 1999
