Female portrait of half body. It shows us an eighteenth-century lady, with powdered and curly hair, forming tidy ringlets, next to a table. The face, with a clear forehead, stands out for the frankness of the blue gaze that rests on us with a contemplative attitude. At the neckline, the satin dress has embroidered highlights and lace whose transparencies have been remarkably resolved through the use of glazes. A large silk bow decorates the bust. The lady's skin is pearly, illuminated by a faint glow on the cheeks. In one of her hands she is holding a fan closed with ivory rods. Stylistically, the work is part of a period of transition between Rococo sensualism and incipient neoclassicism.
