"THE FRIEND OF FLOWERS".

This work follows the model established by the German painter Carl Spitzweg, in his well-known work realized in 1862 and titled "Die Dachkammer". The work shows a room in the attic, with details that suggest the life of a solitary or eccentric person, a recurring theme in Spitzweg's works. It falls within the Biedermeier style, characterized by intimate scenes and everyday details, but also shows influences of late romanticism and, in some respects, impressionism, especially in his later works with their handling of light and atmosphere.
Spitzweg, a Biedermeier painter with late Romantic and Impressionist influences, often depicted the everyday life of the bourgeoisie with an ironic and detailed look.
