Chelín studied at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, passing through the Circulo de Bellas Artes and the Museo de Reproducciones Artísticas. He travelled to Paris where he discovered new artistic expressions. He took part in the foundation of the groups A Carón and Galga, towards the end of the seventies, in which we find artists such as Correa Corredoira, Mon Vasco, Fermín Encinar, Alberto Carpo, Pepe Galán, Cesar Otero and others. The activity of these groups, basically collective exhibitions, lasted until the early eighties. Chelín is a consummate draughtsman who brings with his painting his particular representation of the world from his own point of view, basically with an abstract style and a refined technique. Winner of the Isaac Díaz Pardo Prize in 1999 and 2000, Chelín has had individual and collective exhibitions in Coruña, Santiago, Vigo, Madrid, Salamanca, Caracas, Nantes... Caracas, Nantes...
