Drawer and engraver, Agustín Pérez Bellas was also an architect and writer and married the painter Mercedes Ruibal. He graduated in Architecture in Madrid in 1954, and the following year he held his first exhibition of drawings in Vigo. Later he also presented his work in Barcelona and Santiago de Compostela, as well as abroad, in Milan, Moscow, Lisbon, Paris, Rome and several South American cities. In 1959 he married the painter Mercedes Ruibal, and was also a friend of Rafael Alberti, Urbano Lugrís and Laxeiro. Occasionally he collaborated as an art critic with "La Voz de Galicia", and in 1996, posthumously, Edicións do Castro published "Mi silueta felina", a book of poems and stories. He is currently represented in the Museum of Fine Arts in A Coruña and in the Quiñones Museum in León.
