Son of the also painter José María Marqués García, he initiates his formation next to his father. He exhibited frequently in Barcelona from 1912, year of his debut in the room Parés, and in 1914 he entered the School of Joaquín Torres García. In 1920 he joined the Salón de los Independientes de Barcelona. He exhibited frequently in Barcelona, participating in outstanding group exhibitions and organizing individual exhibitions such as the one held at the Sala Busquets in 1928, which was very well received by the critics. In 1932 he won by competition the position of drawing teacher in the Municipal Schools of Barcelona.
