ADOLFO FERRER AMBLAR (Valencia, 1906–1993).
"Oriental".
Watercolor on paper.

Measurements: 69 x 69 cm, 83.5 x 83.5 cm (frame).
Trained at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, where he graduated with the highest grades, he was appointed at the age of 25 as professor of costume design at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, in addition to serving as a professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Valencia. His artistic calling began at a young age; his father, Pedro Ferrer Calatayud, was also an artist who instilled in him a love for art and guided him in his training. His career would also expand into the fields of set design and illustration, collaborating with “Las Provincias,” “La Correspondencia Valenciana,” as well as “La Voz Valenciana.” He was a great draftsman, demonstrating this from the very beginning of his career; his portraits were highly sought after and appreciated due to his refined technique and personal style, as his work was never swayed by the “isms” or trends of the moment. His work is primarily represented by the Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia, in addition to being part of private collections.
