A coastal landscape with a distinctly Mediterranean character. The scene depicts a cluster of white houses by the beach, with small boats beached in the foreground and two figures that add an everyday, narrative touch. Aguilar Moré constructs the landscape with dense, agile brushstrokes, in which the whites of the facades, the bluish-greens of the doors and windows, the ochres of the roofs, and the blues of the sky and sea create an image of great visual freshness. The painting conveys an evocative vision of the coastline, where reality appears filtered through a gentle, colorful, and essentially pictorial gaze.

Aguilar Moré held his first exhibition at the Rovira Gallery in Barcelona in 1949, and since then he has exhibited his work in Spain, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Monaco, and Switzerland. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Gold Medal from the City Council of Palma de Mallorca, the Sant Jordi Prize from the Barcelona Provincial Council, and the Miquel Carbonell Painting Prize and the II Mediterranean Games Painting Prize. His work is featured in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid, the Museums of Fine Arts and Perrot-Moore in Cadaqués, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Reina Sofía Museum in Athens, the Fons d’Art in Olot, and the Municipal Art Gallery in Palamós.
