Lluís Flotats was a prominent Catalan painter, publisher, and photographer. Trained at the Escola Massana and the Barcelona School of Fine Arts, he pursued his career in Spain, France, and Venezuela. Although he dabbled in abstraction, his work falls within the realm of conventional realism.
He studied at the prestigious Barcelona School of Fine Arts and the Escola Massana. He held some 80 solo exhibitions in cities such as Paris (where he lived and exhibited in 1950–1951), Miami, Montevideo, Madrid, and Mallorca.
He settled in Venezuela in 1955, where he lived for 18 years and achieved considerable prestige. He was posthumously honored for his artistic work and his family ties to the town of Cabó (Lleida).
