In a masterful game of reflections, Rogelio Puente displays a skillful and intelligent overlapping of realities and projections. Through the glass we see a shelf with pieces of porcelain and other objects from the interior of an antique store, with paintings leaning next to a sculpture of a torch-bearing angelote playing between the real and the represented, while the facades of the adjacent buildings make us doubt whether they are reflected on the glass moon or are actually on the same sidewalk. Likewise, along with this playful neo-baroque adventure, Puente describes with precious eagerness every detail, every tactile quality, making use of his skill in drawing, glazes and material treatment.

Rogelio Puente Díaz de la Rocha (Havana, Cuba, 1940 - active in Galicia and Madrid) received a solid international education in Cuba, Canada and the United States before settling permanently in La Coruña during his adolescence. After graduating in Law from the University of Santiago de Compostela and completing his studies in England, his artistic vocation was consolidated in Madrid, inspired by the masterpieces of the Prado Museum. Expanding his training in Architecture and Decorative Arts, he developed a pictorial language with a realistic base and an intimate accent, faithful to the observation of the figure and the atmosphere.

Since 1976, year in which he participated in the Biennial of Pontevedra, he began a constant exhibition career, with presence in the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the National Exhibition of Painting in Bilbao and numerous exhibitions in Galicia, France, New York and various Latin American countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Argentina.
