The work presents a powerful figurative composition starring several human figures in a scene of great physical and emotional intensity. The precise treatment of the anatomy, the dramatic lighting and the dark and scenographic atmosphere place the work within the psychorealism, a current in which DeAngel combines resources of naturalism, realism and hyperrealism to explore the psychological dimension of the human being. In this context, bodies and their gestures become vehicles of narrative tension and reflection on the human condition.
DeAngel is a self-taught painter trained in Barcelona. Throughout his career he has worked in creative fields such as film, photography, illustration and graphic design, before devoting himself fully to painting.
He has participated in international exhibitions and art fairs and has received several awards, including the First Prize Private Foundation Reddis (Tarragona), honorable mentions in Figurative VII and XII of MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona) and the International ARC Salon in New York, where he also won the First Prize "Social Criticism". He was also winner of the Opera Prize "Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner, organized by the Wagner Club and the MEAM in collaboration with the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
His work is part of private, corporate and institutional collections, among them the MEAM - European Museum of Modern Art (Barcelona) and the Wagner Club.
