The Marlen Antica Roma is a limited edition fountain pen launched in 1996, with a production limited to 1,000 units. This piece celebrates the grandeur of the Roman Empire in its heyday, fusing Italian craftsmanship tradition with the majesty of ancient Rome.
The body and cap of the pen are crafted in black ebonite, a material that evokes the solidity and mystery of ancient Roman structures. The cap band is crafted in 925 sterling silver, hand-engraved with scenes depicting the Colosseum, a Roman chariot and two horses in full race, capturing the essence of the competitions of imperial Rome. The clip is also sterling silver, handcrafted to complement the design.
The nib of the pen is 18-karat gold, two-tone and rhodium-plated. The loading system is by piston, characteristic of Pelikan's Souverän M800 series, which allows for greater ink capacity and exceptional durability.
