Russ Pope was born in Los Angeles. He currently lives and works in New Hampshire. Russ Pope has been a skateboarder since he was 5 years old, and has never left that world. He founded his own brand of skateboards, "Transportation Unit". He also collaborated in the creation of Creature Skateboards. Russ has directed and produced major skate films throughout his years in the industry. Russ designs and regularly collaborates with Disney, Cole Haan, K2 Ski Corp, Major League Baseball and Stance. He also contributes to Juxtapoz magazine by writing and sharing drawings and photographs from his travels around the world. Russ has often played the role of curator, either organizing exhibitions for himself with other artists at Shepard Fairey's Subliminal Projects gallery in Los Angeles or selecting artists for commercial opportunities in the fields of skateboarding, surfing and fashion. He exhibited at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2023.
