Castillo Ygay Blanco Gran Reserva Especial 1986 is the first Spanish white wine with 100 Parker points, considered the best white wine in the history of Spain.
The grapes from Pago de Capellanía, planted in 1954 at 485 meters, right in the highest area of Finca Ygay, in the Rioja Alta, were used by Marqués de Murrieta to make this unique and singular white wine. The result is none other than a perfect white wine.
Marqués de Murrieta is one of the Spanish wineries with the longest history. Its origins date back to 1852, when Luciano de Murrieta began trading his wines in the New World. Its wines come from the 300 hectares of vineyards of the Ygay estate, located at the gates of Logroño, where this winery is also located. In addition to the essential tempranillo, the estate has significant quantities of graciano, mazuelo and garnacha blanca vines.
