Jacques Grüber was a French plastic artist, cabinetmaker and master glassmaker. After studying painting between 1884 and 1893 in Nancy and later in Paris, he returned to Lorraine to work as a teacher at the School of Fine Arts in Nancy. In 1893 he made decorations of vases for Daum, furniture for Majorelle and book covers for René Wiener. In 1897 he founded his own workshop where he specialized in glass and stained glass, and in 1901 he was one of the founders of the École de Nancy.
