DESCRIPTION
Two liquor bottles, second half of the twentieth century.
Wheel cut glass, with metal mouthpiece.
One of them with silver identification plate ("Whisky").
It shows wear in the metal.
Measurements: 24 x 11 x 11 cm.
This pair of liquor bottles continues the European tradition of distilled spirits containers made of wheel-cut glass. Its ovoid body and its deep cut decoration -with geometric motifs and faceted fans- generate an intense refraction of light, characteristic of the decorative glassware of the middle of the last century.
Both pieces have metal mouthpieces, which reinforce their use as liquor containers. One of them also has a hanging silver plate engraved with the word "Whisky", a common functional element in domestic decanters, intended to identify its contents and associated with both private bars and formal table service.
The caps, carved in the shape of a faceted polyhedron, complete the silhouette with an elegant touch and evidence the taste for geometry and brilliance typical of 20th century design.
