Rafael G. Bianchi was born in Olot in 1967 and graduated in painting in 1992. He would follow a postgraduate course on "The graphic work today. From the engraved print to the digital print, at the University of Barcelona and a PhD in "Painting in the digital era" (2002). In parallel to an academic career that has culminated as a professor, Bianchi has an artistic work where he escapes from formal continuums that can be automatically perceptible, exercising total freedom when it comes to using displays and strategies to reach his goal on each occasion. His work often revolves around questions, and these are often sarcastically addressed to art and the artist, to the figure and the system, possibly influenced, from the beginning, by a painter father of notorious trajectory. He has had a profound knowledge of the world of art and painting since he was a child, but it did not take him long, however, to stand out in the contemporary scene with a work that often points out tensions and criticisms with intelligence and irony. G.Bianchi makes use of the absurd and the freedom it grants; of irony and subtlety, or the sarcasm of the superficial to reach those places where, only with righteousness, it would be difficult to access.
