BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
FELIX BARLETTA (Buenos Aires, 1914-1990).
"Rural scene".
Oil on paper.
Signed in the lower left corner.
Measures: 20 x 27 cm; 22 x 29 cm (frame).
Trained at the Ernesto de la Cárcova School of Fine Arts with Enrique de Larrañaga and Alfredo Guido, Felix Barletta took part in the National Salon in 1953, 1954, 1957, 1958 and 1960. He won numerous prizes throughout his career. His language is characterised by being somewhat expressionist due to the grotesque character he uses in his drawings. His painting is of social intention, but based on caricature, says María Laura San Martín in "Pintura Argentina Contemporánea", Editorial La Mandrágora, Buenos Aires, 1961.
