Trained at the School of Arts and Crafts and the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, both in Barcelona, Andreu Martró taught painting procedures and mural techniques at La Lonja between 1970 and 2002. Since his debut in 1972, Martró has held more than seventy solo exhibitions, mainly in Catalonia but also in Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Alicante and Düren (Germany). He has also taken part in group exhibitions all over the world. Among his awards are the Eugeni d'Ors for young painters, the first national prize Miquel Carbonell, the first prize of the III National Drawing Fair of Barcelona and the Tomeu Buades. His work is present in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Nicaragua, the MACBA of Barcelona, the Museum of Modern Art of Reus, the National Castle of Larrés and the Francisco Gil of Salamanca, as well as in private collections both European and American.
