Ramon Reig was professor of drawing in the Institute of Secondary Education of Burgos and in Figueres, where he had as student, among others, Salvador Dalí. He was born by chance in Manila, but his family moved to Figueres when he was one year old. He was a multifaceted person, since, in addition to being a painter, he was a professor, architect, academic of various corporations, writer and a great lover of music. His fame as a painter is mainly centered on his landscape watercolors of the Empordà. His first exhibition was in Figueres at the age of 15.
In 1942 he obtained the third class diploma at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where he participated with the work "El Canigó". In 1944 he won the first National Watercolor Prize. His works were selected to represent the Spanish State in an exhibition in London. He was one of those responsible for the creation of the Museum of L'Empordà.
