JOSÉ CABRINETY GUTERAS (Barcelona, 1865 - active until 1917).

Son of Jose Cabrinety and Cladera, military of the army died in the Carlist battle of Alpens (Osona), Jose Cabrinety Guteras carried out his studies in the School of Fine Arts of Barcelona between the years 1883 and 1885, continuing them in the Academy of Fine Arts of Paris. In 1887 he settled in Barcelona, where he devoted himself to illustration, specifically to the illustration of the book Morriña by Pardo Bazán, which included several photoengravings. He also worked in La Ilustració Catalana (1890), La Ilustracion Moderna (1890), La Biblioteca Universal Illustrada (1890), La Ilustracion Artística (1893-1907), Nuevo Mundo (1901) and La Ilustració Catalana, among others. Cabrinety participated in Fine Arts Exhibitions (between 1891 and 1894) and published his illustrations in the "Salón de la Vanguardia". In 1895 he traveled to New York and collaborated with Cosmopolitan magazine. His work method consisted in the previous capture of the different scenes by means of photography, to later turn them into drawings through a long process of observation.
