This landscape reveals the early interest of Luis Manero for a serene and academic figurative realism, where the drawing has a dominant role. The combination of pencil and gouache on paper provides atmospheric depth and a subtle play of light, especially in the clouds and reflections of the water. The composition, balanced and classical, shows the artist's taste for carefully constructed naturalistic views, typical of his formative years.
Luis Manero Miguel was a self-taught painter linked to figurative realism, with stages close to social realism. He studied in Madrid and later in Rome thanks to a scholarship. Upon his return, he developed a solid teaching career in drawing institutions in Burgos, combining it with his artistic activity.
