Juli Ramis was a Mallorcan painter influenced by the work of Joaquim Mir, Santiago Rusiñol, and Hermen Anglada Camarasa. After spending time in Barcelona, Madrid, and Paris, he came into contact with the Spanish post-Cubist avant-garde movements, developing his own distinctive artistic style as a result of his study and observation of the new artistic trends emerging at that time in major European cities. As an artist, he is noted for his mastery of drawing, as well as for the Cubist and Fauvist influences that established him as one of the precursors of Informalism. Throughout his career, he exhibited in cities both in Spain (Madrid, Palma, Barcelona) and abroad (The Hague, London, Zurich), as well as at the first Hispano-American Art Biennial in 1951, the 1960 Venice Biennale, and the “Réalités Nouvelles” Salon in Paris. His work is currently represented in the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Lyon, Israel, and Madrid.
