This is an exceptional set of sofa and armchair of Danish manufacture, which can be appreciated in the perfect synthesis between function and beauty, as well as in the quality of the wood, whose grains are integrated into the design and contribute to harmonize its appearance. The structure is characterized by elegance and formal economy, seeking a visual balance between straight lines (minimal and elegant) and curves (soft and organic).
Kurt Østervig was a leading Danish furniture designer, a key figure in the golden age of midcentury design. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Østervig was trained not as a cabinetmaker but as an architect in Odense, Denmark. He opened his own studio in 1947, and quickly became known for his ability to work with wood and create pieces that masterfully united form and function.
