DESCRIPTION
Attributed to ARNE VODDER (Denmark, 1926-2009)
Cupboard-closet, 1960s.
Teak wood.
Measurements: 78 x 150 x 40 cm.
Wardrobe-closet from the 1960s, attributed to Arne Vodder, which clearly embodies the essence of Danish design of the mid-twentieth century. It is a sober and refined piece, where elegance is born of proportion, quality materials and absolute attention to detail.
The furniture has a balanced and horizontal composition, elevated on stylized legs that give it visual lightness. The front is distinguished by the rhythmic play of the drawers, whose organic shapes and integrated handles add depth and dynamism without breaking the harmony of the whole. The wood displays a warm, silky tone that enhances the natural grain and reinforces its timeless character.
Functional and versatile, it offers a generous and well-organized storage capacity, designed for everyday use without sacrificing aesthetics. Each element responds to a rational design, where nothing is superfluous and everything fulfills a clear function, faithful to the Scandinavian ideology.
Arne Vodder was one of the great names in Danish design, a disciple of Finn Juhl and a key figure in Nordic modernism. His work is characterized by soft lines, organic volumes and an extraordinary sensitivity in woodworking. Vodder designed furniture for both domestic and institutional spaces, and his pieces are today highly valued by international collectors and galleries.
