Elegant secretaire designed by Aldo Rossi for the firm Molteni & C. Made of walnut wood, the piece of furniture clearly reflects Rossi's characteristic formal language, based on the reinterpretation of traditional typologies through an essential geometry and an architectural conception of the domestic object.

The piece presents a vertical structure of stylized proportions organized in several functional bodies. The upper part contains two drawers and, below them, a characteristic curved front with a roll-up shutter, which, when opened, reveals a writing space with a folding surface. The interior incorporates compartments and drawers, while the lower body houses multiple drawers and a central cabinet with doors, providing a large storage capacity.

The composition responds to Rossi's desire to reinterpret classic furniture - in this case the traditional secreter or bureau - through a contemporary interpretation based on structural clarity, volumetric purity and balanced proportions.

Designed for Molteni & C., one of the leading contemporary Italian design firms, the "Carteggio" model is part of the furniture production that Aldo Rossi developed in parallel to his architectural activity, transferring the compositional principles of his theoretical and built work to a domestic scale.

Some of Aldo Rossi's designs can be seen today in collections as prominent as that of the MoMA in New York.
