The "Trinidad" chair, designed by Nanna Ditzel for Fredericia Furniture in 1993, became one of the most emblematic models of the Danish firm and marked a milestone in its history, placing Ditzel as the second great designer linked to the house after Børge Mogensen. Its characteristic perforated backrest combines visual lightness and ergonomics, reflecting the author's idea that the aesthetics of a chair should dialogue with the person who uses it.
Nanna Ditzel was one of the most prominent Danish designers of the 20th century. Trained as a cabinetmaker and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, she developed an extensive career in furniture, textiles and industrial design, experimenting with new materials such as fiberglass, wicker or foam. Throughout his career he received numerous international awards and created iconic designs, including the "Hallingdal" textile for Kvadrat. His collaboration with Fredericia cemented his legacy in contemporary Scandinavian design.
