The sculptural presence of the base is the main attraction of this Danish lamp from the 1970s. Constructed from various pieces of solid teak assembled together, it features a gently contoured form in which the grain pattern enhances the visual richness of the wood. The transition between the cylindrical body and the neck is achieved through a continuous, refined profile, characteristic of Scandinavian design’s focus on expressing the natural qualities of the material.

The wide, original fabric shade balances the proportions of the base and provides warm, diffused lighting. The reduction of the form to essential volumes, the quality of the teak, and the absence of ornamentation place the piece squarely within the tradition of modern Danish design of that decade.
