A coffee table with a distinctly sculptural character, crafted from metal worked and patinated in shades of bronze. The frame takes shape through an organic composition of branching forms, stems, and leaves, creating a base with a pronounced three-dimensional and naturalistic effect. A circular top of transparent glass rests directly on the structure; its visual lightness is a hallmark of the material and expressive presence of the metal. The piece exemplifies the artistic language developed by Salvino Marsura, characterized by the transformation of motifs drawn from the plant world into furniture structures with a strong sculptural quality.
Salvino Marsura was an Italian sculptor and artist rooted in the tradition of metalwork and one of the most distinctive representatives of iron sculpture developed in the Veneto region during the second half of the 20th century. He began his artistic career in 1957 and trained under the sculptor Toni Benetton, known as the “poet of iron.” His work spanned sculpture, furniture, and decorative objects, combining the strength of metal with forms inspired by nature. His distinctive artistic language, situated at the intersection of sculpture, design, and the decorative arts, led him to hold more than 200 exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Among his major accolades are the 1972 Griffone d’Oro and the Gold Medal for Creativity from the Accademia Tiberina, awarded in 1973. Marsura was also actively involved in cultural life in Treviso as a gallery owner and promoter of artists.
