Outdoor furniture set consisting of a round table and six chairs, made entirely of wrought metal, following the characteristic ornamental style of mid-20th-century garden decor. The iron frame features a light, open construction, in which curved lines and geometric motifs lend dynamism to the set, while the orange-toned cushions introduce striking color hallmarks and reinforce its Mediterranean character. The set is part of the renewal of garden furniture in the 1950s and 1960s, a period when these spaces began to be conceived as an extension of the home’s interior.
Aesthetically, the design is reminiscent of the work of Mario Papperzini, a designer associated with the production of wrought-iron outdoor furniture in the mid-20th century. His work is closely linked to John Salterini, an American firm specializing in metal garden furniture, for which some of the most recognizable designs of this period were developed. His pieces are characterized by a blend of traditional wrought-iron craftsmanship with a modern, ornamental aesthetic, resulting in furniture with a strong sculptural presence and great versatility.
