An elegant pair of Italian bedside tables from the 1960s, attributed to Vittorio Dassi, whose refined form reflects the evolution of his work toward a more modern and minimalist style. The prismatic bodies, crafted from teak, are softened by the slightly convex doors and rest on a wooden frame topped with small conical brass supports—a combination that lends lightness and refinement to the set. An identical piece, with the same measurements and construction features, is also documented in the specialized market as attributed to Dassi.
The design is virtually devoid of ornamentation and relies on the quality of the wood, the subtlety of the curves, and the contrast with the brass for its expressiveness. The discreet side indentation on the doors replaces conventional handles and helps maintain the clean lines of the front, while the interior, featuring a shelf, provides functional storage space.

Vittorio Dassi was a leading figure in mid-20th-century Italian furniture design. Associated with the family-owned firm Dassi Mobili Moderni in Lissone, he produced work between the 1930s and 1960s characterized by high-quality craftsmanship and the use of select woods. His professional relationship with Gio Ponti took on special significance in the 1950s, when the Dassi company produced furniture for the Hotel Royal in Naples, designed by Ponti. It was precisely from the mid-1950s onward that his design language evolved toward more schematic forms and a greater use of teak in modular furniture—an aesthetic direction that these nightstands embody.
