The reduced scale model of a regulation football pitch and a total of 22 figures of players, unsuccessfully searching for the ball they have to play for, are the physical elements that make up "En joc". Beyond the earthly plane, the work reflects on the world of art and our relationship with our immediate surroundings. To do so, Bianchi uses the impact of football in our society today, one of the sporting competitions that most influences the masses.
Rafael G. Bianchi graduated in Fine Arts, specialising in painting, in 1992, and later went on to do postgraduate studies and a doctorate at the University of Barcelona in 2002, with a research project on painting in the digital era. He has developed parallel careers, working as a teacher on the one hand and as a painter on the other. In his artistic work, Bianchi poses questions to which he tries to give answers, sometimes with a sarcastic or ironic tone. His works revolve around art and the artist, the figure and the system, in a metalinguistic discourse probably influenced by the influence exerted by his father, also a painter, from an early age. A connoisseur of the art world and the art market since childhood, he approaches this universe with a critical, sometimes acidic gaze.
