DESCRIPTION

NOÉ SERRANO (Córdoba, 1973).
"The little dictator", 2008.
Resin, copy 11/30.
Justified and stamped on the base.
Measurements: 21,5 x 12,5 x 6,5 cm.

Hyperrealist sculptor graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Seville (1994-1999), Noé Serrano has participated in films such as "A Monster Comes to See Me", merging film and sculpture. His works, halfway between animal and human morphology, are rooted in medieval bestiaries, resulting in bizarre figures that are tremendously realistic. Serrano's fascination with anatomy dates back to his university days. Every work created by the Cordovan artist follows a conscientious elaboration process, starting with a demanding anatomical study and then moving on to action on the dissection table. Once the idea takes shape, Serrano models his works by hand, positivizing them in resin as the definitive material and polychroming them by means of a meticulous technique that increases, even more if possible, the verisimilitude with reality. Noé Serrano becomes -together with other artists such as Ron Mueck or John de Andrea- one of the artists of avant-garde sculpture, forming part of the generation of artists interested in sculptural hyperrealism. Serraon currently works with 3 Punts Galeria and has exhibited in galleries such as Principal Art, as well as in New York (with the project "Mestre Projects"). It is possible to find his work in the Collection of the International Biennial of Realism and Contemporary Figuration, in the Clave Gallery Collection of Murcia, in the Pradonegro Foundation Collection, in the Collection of the Museum of International Contemporary Sculpture (MEFIC), in the collection of the International Museum of Contemporary Art of Getafe (Madrid) and in the collection of the Casa Ibáñez Museum of Olula del Río.
