Art Nouveau period jug in silver-plated pewter, with decoration of nude nymph in the shadow of a man's face.
Ferrand was a French Art Nouveau sculptor who participated in the Paris Salons from 1882. He studied with Henri Louis Levasseur (1853-1934) and Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912). He is known for his representations of characters and allegories.
Ettlinger Frères was a renowned foundry and publishing house active in the early 20th century, specializing in the production of pewter objects, particularly in the Art Nouveau style. This prominent foundry worked with numerous artists, and is associated with the works of figures such as François Madurell and Joseph Berthier, among many others.
