This patinated pewter pitcher is a very representative example of Art Nouveau. Its body is bulbous in shape, and is notable because the neck is modeled as a male face under a stylized hat with three wings. The piece is completed with a relief that includes a seated nymph and profuse vegetal ornaments.
Ignaz Mansch was an Austrian sculptor active in the Art Nouveau period.
