Round carving representing the Virgin in her invocation of Immaculate Conception. Mary is shown standing on the orb surrounded by clouds from which the lunar crescent rises, while stepping on the snake, symbolizing her victory over evil. Dressed in a light-colored tunic with a blue mantle, she joins her hands in a prayerful attitude, which imprints a naturalistic play of folds on the mantle. Her hair falls loosely down her back, and the features of her fine face and long neck add a remarkable elegance, stylizing her bearing. Stylistically, it takes up the iconographic and stylistic tradition of Granada.
