This jug by Charles Theodore Perron is a testimony to the mastery with which Art Nouveau transformed functional objects into collectible sculptures.
The sculptor Charles Theodore Perron, known for his genre sculptures and Art Nouveau decorative elements, was a pupil of Falguière and other masters. Perron exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1895, garnering numerous awards, including an honorable mention (1896), successive medals (1897, 1899) and a first-class medal in 1910, as well as participating in the Universal Exposition of 1900.
