In “Coming Out of the Bath,” Pedro Antonio Saorín approaches the female figure through a sculptural conception that combines naturalism with a deliberately expressive surface treatment. The gesture of the hand on the chest, the slight tilt of the head, and the forward stance of the legs convey a sense of restrained movement, reinforced by the figure’s elevated position.

The lost-wax casting process preserves the traces of the modeling and the surface irregularities, accentuated by the bronze’s greenish patina. The nude, rendered without excessive idealization, demonstrates Saorín’s interest in the human figure and in the expressive possibilities of metal. The use of bronze also constitutes a well-documented aspect of his body of work: the Siyâsa Museum holds, among its collection, his sculpture *Maternidad* (Motherhood), dated 1999 and also created using the lost-wax casting technique.

A self-taught poet, writer, painter, and sculptor, Pedro Antonio Saorín has developed a body of work marked by experimentation with different artistic languages and materials. His sculptural work places special emphasis on the direct treatment of metal and the tension between figuration and expressiveness. He has exhibited in Spain and in various countries in Europe and the Americas, and his work is represented, among other collections, in the collection of the Siyâsa Museum in Cieza.
